Who Can Apply?
You may be eligible to apply if you:
Attended Thomas Rotherham College (TRC) or Wickersley School
This bursary is intended to support students who have studied at one of our partner institutions. Additional institutions may be included in the future.
Have a confirmed or pending place at a UK university
You can apply whether you have accepted an offer or are still waiting for a decision.
Can demonstrate financial or social disadvantage
Financial or social disadvantage may include circumstances such as:
- Low household income
- Limited family financial support
- Care experience
- Other adverse circumstances
Supporting evidence may be requested.

Applications may be considered against merit criteria developed in consultation with partner education institutions.
Financial Need
Applications are also assessed using means-tested criteria relating to household income and disadvantage.

No, thesebursaries are not limited to STEM subjects. Students applying to study any subject at university are welcome to apply.

No. Bursaries are only available to undergraduate students progressing to their first degree at a UK university.
Do I need to attend a specific university?
No. You can apply if you have a confirmed or pending place at any UK university.
Will everyone be interviewed?
Interviews will form part of the process for shortlisted applicants.
When will I hear the outcome?
All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by 31 May prior to starting university.
What happens if I receive a bursary?
Successful applicants may be asked to provide updates on use of funds and impact.
